If you are a registered primary school teacher, you may be eligible to fast track your career and complete a Diploma level early childhood education and care qualification.

Depending on your skills and knowledge, you can successfully complete your qualification within 6 to 12 months (full time).

Am I eligible?

You are eligible for the Early Childhood Teacher Bridging Program if you hold:

  • a primary teaching qualification that includes a focus on children aged 3–8 or 5–12 years old
  • teacher registration in Australia (or accreditation in New South Wales).

The Queensland Government provides subsidies to reduce the cost of the bridging program under the Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce Action Plan 2016–19.

These subsidies are provided directly to registered training organisations (RTOs) and are incorporated into their program delivery fees. RTOs set their own fees and charges so costs will differ across training organisations.

RTOs registered to offer the Early Childhood Teacher Bridging Program include:

For further information on fees or how to enrol in a Diploma level qualification, contact the RTOs directly.

Information for registered training organisations

RTOs interested in delivering the Early Childhood Teacher Bridging Program can submit an application form (PDF, 1.2MB).
