Starting school for the first time is an important event in the lives of children and their families.

The Wondering about school resources provide schools with an opportunity to connect with families and early childhood education and care services, to support children with their transition to school.

Activities

The Children's investigations booklet encourages current Prep students to represent and communicate their thoughts, feeling and experiences of when they started school, to support kindergarten-aged children with their transition.

Start creating your new Wondering about school Children's investigations booklet (DOCX, 6.9MB)​, work with Prep students and their families to share supportive messages about starting school, and distribute the booklet to the new children who are entering Prep.
