Hello.
Huh?
Look.
Oh!
Hmm.
Wow!
Huh?
Look!
Ah!
I'm Sally.
And I'm Possum.
Hello!
Oh, this is delicious!
Ah, very delicious.
Ooh, hello, everyone.
Hi, everyone.
Sally and I have been working so hard out in the garden, and now it's time for a rest and a snack.
Oh Sally, last night I slept so well.
How did you sleep?
Well, last night some friends and I went out to watch a performance.
We really enjoyed ourselves and we had a lovely catch-up after.
I got home and I went straight to bed and I slept like a log.
Oh, wow!
That's great, but Sally, what's a performance?
Well, a performance is at a theatre and there's a group of people there that dress up in all sorts of costumes and act out a story, and everybody sits in the audience and watches them and applauds.
It even has an interpreter there too that signs the whole performance so I can understand what's going on.
It was a great performance.
It was really good.
Ah, that's fantastic!
Phew.
Oh, look!
I wonder who's here?
I'll get it!
Hello!
Look, it's Amanda.
Hi!
Hello.
I have brought a big surprise!
Oh!
It's just out there.
It's a big box Sally!
What's inside Amanda?
I can't tell you that.
You have to find out for yourself.
Shall we go and have a look?
Oh, I love surprises!
Come on Sally, let's go!
I wonder what it could be.
Let's go!
Come on!
Look!
Look.
Surprise, surprise, surprise!
Oh, wow!
What do you think is inside the trunk Sally?
I think it's toys.
No.
Possum, what do you think is inside the trunk?
Hmm.
Oh, I think it's dress-up clothes!
How did you know that?
Does that mean he's right?
How did you know that?
Well, earlier Sally and I were talking about putting on a play, and I thought that would be the perfect thing dress-up clothes!
Well, a friend of mine gave me this trunk.
They didn't need it anymore, so I thought to myself, who would like to play dress-ups?
The answer, of course, was Sally and Possum.
I knew they'd love dressing up and having fun, so I brought it here to give to you and now it's yours.
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Amanda!
It's so exciting.
Ho, ho, ho!
But I have to go.
I have a fence to fix.
Once I've done that, though, I will come back and we can have fun playing dress-ups together.
Yeah!
Have fun!
Thank you.
Bye!
Bye!
Bye!
Bye!
Right.
Look!
Oh, look!
You'll have lots of fun with this Possum.
Yeah!
This is great!
Ta-da!
Mm-hm.
Hello, hello-hello-hello.
Ooh.
Look.
Sally, what do other people do when they're playing dress-ups?
Well, children love dressing up and playing pretend.
They can pretend to be doctors… Huh?
..police officers…
What?
Chefs
Wow, or road workers.
Yeah!
Why don't we watch some children at school playing dress-ups and perhaps we can get a few ideas from them.
Yeah, let's watch!
Oh, that was great!
Yes, it was.
They had so much fun.
They were really enjoying themselves, weren't they?
Yeah.
Would you like to start playing dress-ups?
Oh, yeah.
Me first!
Ooh, that looks good.
Off you go.
Uh, thank you!
Thank you very much.
Oh, you look just like a rock star.
That looks great!
Uh-huh-huh.
Now it's my turn.
Hmm.
Ooh.
Hello.
You look great!
Ooh!
Da, da, da-da
Oh, that looks great.
Who are you, I wonder?
I am the queen.
Ha-ha!
You look so funny Possum.
Do, do, do-do-do.
Look at that.
Aww.
Whee!
This looks great!
Do-do, do-do.
That's great.
Do-do, do-do.
Ooh.
Ta-da!
You're a clown.
Ha-ha.
Honk, honk!
Oh, that's funny Possum.
You look great!
We're the same!
Ta-da!
We are clowns.
Do-do, do-do.
We're both the same.
Yeah!
Oh, that was so much fun.
I really enjoyed that.
It really was.
I enjoyed myself too.
Do you remember, Amanda mentioned she's coming back and she's bringing some friends.
Why don't we put on a play for them?
Ah!
Sally, does that mean we could dress up as different characters?
Yes!
That's what it means Possum.
I know.
I'm going to dress up as you.
I'm going to become Possum.
That means you can dress up as me.
You could be Sally.
There's a red, curly wig in there.
Oh, Sally!
That means you'd have to climb to the top of my tree.
Oh, really?
Me, climb the tree?
Oh, I don't think I could do that.
No, I've changed my mind.
What was your favourite costume?
Hmm.
Hmm.
Oh, Sally!
The red hair with the red vest and the brown cape.
That was my favourite.
Ah.
Sally, what was your favourite one?
My favourite was when I dressed up as the queen.
I had my beautiful crown, my long, flowing dress and my wonderful cape.
Ah, that was great!
Do you know, there's a story?
There's a queen walking along and she came across a big puddle of mud and she couldn't walk around it and she didn't want to walk through it and ruin her beautiful shoes.
Oh, Sally?
If I was there, I would have taken off my cape and put it on top of that muddy puddle so you could walk across it.
Well Possum, that's exactly what the story's about.
Wow!
Well, then, why don't we put on a performance and act out that story?
Oh, yeah!
Oh, Sally,
I would make some mud and put it over there to make it look real.
Oh, no.
We don't need real mud.
We can pretend.
We can just use some brown paper or perhaps cut out some materials and put that down as the muddy puddle.
Oh, ok, but we need to practice very hard.
We need to rehearse a lot to make sure that we are ready for our friends to come and watch us perform.
OK.
Can we get dressed now?
Let's do it.
Ta-da!
Ooh!
Ah!
Ooh.
Are we ready?
Ooh, yes.
Oh, wow!
Ha-ha!
Ha!
Welcome here to the performance.
The name of the show is, "The Queen and Sir Possum".
I am the Queen and I am Sir Possum.
It is such a beautiful day that I decided that I would like to go for a walk.
There had been torrential rain and everything was wet.
I was concerned about some muddy puddles as I went upon my walk.
Hmm, hmm, hmm.
Hmm.
Madam, Madam!
You must be careful of this mud.
I would not want your shoes to get all muddy.
Please, allow me to carry you across the muddy puddle.
Oh.
Hmm.
Or better yet, please, use my cape.
Why, thank you Sir.
There you are Madam.
Oh, thank you.
You are a good, kind-hearted gentleman.
What is your name?
My name is Possum.
Well, from now on, you shall be known as Sir Possum.
Oh, why, thank you!
You really are the best queen in the world.
Well, thank you.
And that's the end.
Yay!
Yay!
Thank you!
Oh, yeah, wow!
Thank you.
Wow!
Yeah!
Thank you so much.
That was great!
I loved your costumes.
Oh, thank you Amanda, for bringing that big box of costumes for us to dress up in.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
Yeah.
Well, our time is up.
Thanks for watching.
See you next time.
Bye!
Bye!
Come on, everyone!
Let's dress up.
Ooh.
Wow!
Mmm.
Ooh!
Put that on, Amanda.
OK!
