Pre-kindergarten transition pilot program

To help more children access kindergarten in 2022, 41 community kindergartens were selected to trial a range of pre-kindy transition programs in terms 3 and 4, 2021.

The pilot program supports children not currently attending an early childhood education and care program in their local community to make a successful transition into kindy in 2022.

National and international research has shown that successful transition to a quality kindergarten program leads to greater social, emotional and cognitive outcomes for children.
