First/heritage language supports provide advice, training and coaching for educators to support children’s ability to maintain their first/heritage languages and connection to culture and identity, while acquiring English as an additional language.

Services will need to source language supports appropriate to the local area, families and community. Supports should be provided in accordance with the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG).
