Foundations for Success is a practical guideline to extend and enrich learning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the kindergarten year.
The guideline supports educators to implement a program that connects with families and communities and builds on the cultural knowledge, strengths and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Foundations for Success aligns with the nationally approved Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) for Australia – Belonging, Being and Becoming and is a supporting document to the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline.

In Queensland, a transition statement is a summary of each child's learning across their kindergarten year. It includes contributions from the kindergarten teacher, parents and child.
A printed copy of the statement is made available to each child's family.
Foundations for Success includes information about transition to school, sample interactive transition statements and a link to the transition statement parent/carer consent form.
Parents and carers can choose to share the transition statement with their child's new Prep teacher and/or other relevant staff at their new school, or they can consent to it being passed to the school by the Kindergarten teacher.
When the transition statement is shared with the child's new school, the valuable information they contain about each child's strengths and interests is helpful for Prep teachers as they prepare to welcome each child and plan for their ongoing learning and development.
