All adults who work in an early childhood education and care service, or live in a family day care residence in Queensland, must have a current Blue Card.
Blue Card Services will review an individual’s Blue Card status if disciplinary information, changes to police information, or other orders mean they are no longer suitable to work with children or to live in a family day care residence.
This review can result in the reassessment, suspension or cancellation of an individual’s Blue Card (positive notice) or the issue of a negative notice.
If there is a change in an individual’s Blue Card Status, Blue Card Services will notify the approved provider of the service they are linked to, in writing.
In some instances notifications to approved providers of family day care services refer to the individual involved as an employee when they are in fact an adult occupant of the service.
Do not ignore the notification based on this error.
If you receive a notification from Blue Card Services you must take immediate action:
is being
reassessed
|
Consider if the adult occupant meets Queensland’s fitness and propriety requirements under
regulation 163 of the National Regulations.
|
has been
suspended or

|
Act immediately:
- ensure education and care from the residence ceases,
or
- ensure the adult occupant no longer lives at the residence.
