The Department of Education is inviting eligible organisations to apply to lease and operate an early childhood education and care (ECEC) service at a department owned facility located in Blackwater.
The successful applicant will be required to operate an ECEC service that caters for children from 3 years of age to school age entry, and obtain a service approval to operate under the
Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011.
A service provider is being sought to establish and operate an approved ECEC service for children aged 3 to 5 years that is tailored to meet the unique needs of families in the Blackwater community. The service model must demonstrate an ability to engage families with children not currently engaged in a kindergarten program. Preference will be given to an operator who can deliver an approved kindergarten program that addresses barriers that prevent families from accessing kindergarten, including delivering activities to improve the transition to kindergarten.
There is
no recurrent funding available to support the operation of the service. However, the successful applicant may be eligible to access operational subsidies under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme.
