Queensland kindergarten teachers have continued to support young learners in many ways and equipped children as they commenced learning in Prep in 2021.

The move to the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) online application has been embraced by kindergarten teachers, with more than 45,000 transition statements created using the online platform.

Transition statements are a valuable tool for schools to support children as they transition from kindergarten to school. They provide a snapshot of each child’s knowledge, skills and dispositions for learning across the 5 learning and development areas of the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline.

Together, parents and carers, kindergarten teachers and school staff support children to experience a positive transition to school.

Have you used the online application yet?

The online application reduces the time required to complete transition statements. In addition, the professional learning support from QCAA via online webinars has increased kindergarten teachers’ knowledge of the functionality of the application and the language of transition statements.

The portal allows for greater consistency in transition statements, making it easier for schools to access the information about children’s learning and the strategies to support continuity and transition.

Visit the QCAA website for more information.
