Download the new Sally and Possum
educational resources that guide teaching and learning opportunities in the early years.
Sally and Possum is Australia’s first educational television show for young deaf and hard of hearing learners who use Australian Sign Language (Auslan) as their primary means of communication.
Sally and Possum are best friends who do everything together. Whether it’s making delicious, smooth icing for a cake or flying high in a hot air balloon, Sally and Possum turn everything into an interesting and exciting adventure.
Developed by specialist teachers, the videos and educational resources align with the Early Years Learning Framework to support early literacy and numeracy in deaf and hard of hearing learners aged 4 to 8.
The resources are designed to help you link children’s learning experiences to each Sally and Possum episode, with practical recipes and how-to instructional craft activities.
The new resource package includes:
- overviews of the 6 seasons and episode summaries
- a Deaf Awareness Activity Guide to support deaf awareness and culture within classrooms
- an Auslan Language Activity Guide to support outcomes under the Australian Curriculum – Auslan Language.
