Program overview

The Queensland Government is funding selected sector organisations to deliver the Leadership and Management Program (LAMP), a professional learning initiative designed to strengthen leadership and management capability across Queensland's early childhood education and care sector.

Each funded organisation delivers the program in a way that reflects the needs and context of their services and networks.

For non-aligned, small to medium-sized providers, LAMP will be available through the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority, ensuring equitable access to high-quality leadership development opportunities across the sector.

Program focus

LAMP builds the skills and capabilities of all early childhood education and care professionals to enhance service leadership, management and quality.

Participants learn evidence-based strategies to:

  • lead and manage teams effectively
  • empower and develop other educators
  • promote positive workplace culture
  • drive continuous improvement within their service.

Program design

Delivered through a combination of virtual, coursework and face-to-face learning, LAMP is:

  • research-informed and outcomes-focused
  • aligned with the leadership needs identified by early childhood education and care services
  • practical and relevant to everyday early childhood settings.

LAMP providers also establish communities of practice to support participants through networking, reflection and collaboration.

Program providers

Each of the 7 government funded organisations will release its own communications regarding program delivery, including details on eligibility and program schedules.

  • interest in taking on greater leadership responsibilities
  • level of experience and years of service
  • employment status (for example, employee or contractor)
  • ability to commit to the program support from their approved provider or service management
  • capacity for their role to be backfilled.

Costs associated with completing the program
