The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (Regulatory Authority) is responsible for approving early childhood education and care providers and services in Queensland under the
National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Education and Care Services Act 2013 (ECS Act). These approvals are required in order to operate an education and care service in Queensland.
Most education and care services in Queensland are regulated under the NQF. These services include centre-based services (e.g. long day care, kindergartens and outside school hours care) and family day care services. For information on approvals under the ECS Act, please visit the
ECS Act Services page.
