Thank you, early childhood educators!
Wednesday 4 September is
Early Childhood Educators' Day—an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable role of early childhood educators and teachers across Queensland.
Throughout Queensland, more than 48,000 early childhood educators and teachers in more than 3,500 services set critical foundations for learning and wellbeing for more 330,000 children. Working in long day care, outside school hours care, kindy, family day care, or early years places, early childhood educators are essential to ensuring that children and families thrive, now and into their future.
From our educators
'[I love] watching the children's capability in the infant space… it warms my heart to see the transformation of educators and families as they see each child as truly capable and begin trusting the children with more and more responsibility.'—Jane, Centre Manager
'I realised I was shaping the future of the children I worked with when I taught my toddler class how to speak in sign language. It made such a difference for the children to be able to communicate, I really have a strong passion for supporting children's communication skills.'—Renee, Lead Educator
'For me, it’s the small conversations. Often, listening is more important that talking—when a child has made the effort to look for you, grab you, and they're asking for your time, that's where the moments of growth happen.'—Anita, Centre Director
