Service closures and notifications

Closing and reopening your services under the NQF

Approved providers must notify the Regulatory Authority of the closure of their service as per National Regulations, r 175 (2)(b), or notify of reopening via the National Quality Agenda IT System (NQAITS).

Important: Do not put a reopen date unless you can confirm you are definitely reopening otherwise leave blank. When your service reopens, go back into the portal and enter the reopen date to confirm the date the service opened.

Services approved under the ECS Act

Services approved under the Queensland Education and Care Services Act can notify by emailing the ECEC Emergency Closures mailbox at ececemergencyclosures@qed.qld.gov.au.

Early Years Services

All Early Years Services are required to advise the department of intended closure dates and emergency Early Years contact details during their closure periods by emailing the EYS mailbox at EYS@qed.qld.gov.au.

Child Care Subsidy—period of emergency

The Australian Government has declared a Child Care Subsidy (CCS) period of emergency in parts of Queensland due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Read more about support during a CCS period of emergency. Temporary fee waiver—Tropical Cyclone Alfred

When considering re-opening, your service may need to apply for a temporary waiver. Waiver application fees associated with cyclone-related impacts have been waived for this event.

Services that have received significant, long-term damage may need to relocate temporarily. This will require a new service approval which the Regulatory Authority can prioritise. These fees will also be waived.
