It articulates the nation’s vision for a world class education system that encourages and supports every student to be the very best they can be, no matter where they live or what kind of learning challenges they may face.
The important role of early childhood education is described, with every young child having the opportunity to benefit from structured, play-based learning before they start school. The early years are acknowledged as integral to building the social, emotional and cognitive skills children need to succeed in the years to come.
