Long day care services and sessional kindergartens can apply for Queensland Kindergarten Funding to assist with the cost of delivering an
approved kindergarten program.
Kindergarten program provider approvals are issued periodically throughout the year.
You need to lodge your application to become an approved kindergarten program provider via
QGrants, a whole-of-government online grants management system.
Once approved as a kindergarten program provider, you can receive kindergarten funding from the beginning of the next claiming cycle.
Each approved provider or long day care service must identify the gap fee subsidy (free kindy amount) paid by the Queensland Government on each family's fee statement. Where this is not possible, the family fee statement must include the 'kindy tick' and free kindy logo to demonstrate to the family that they have received free kindy.
The application process is different for long day care services and sessional kindergartens.
