Minor capital works grants for sessional kindergartens

​Minor capital works grants for selected sessional kindergartens will aim to increase enrolment capacity, and improve building access and safety.

Eligibility

The grants will prioritise sessional kindergarten program providers delivering free kindy in low socio-economic and rural and remote areas.

Kindergarten program providers are eligible to receive funding if they are a member of a central governing body (CGB)—The Creche and Kindergarten Association Limited, The Gowrie (Qld) Inc, Independent Schools Queensland Ltd, Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District and The Corporation of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Queensland.

Aims

To help selected sessional kindergartens build their capacity to include children of all abilities in a kindergarten program and improve their compliance with the National Child Safe Principles.

Eligible projects

The funding can be used to make access improvements including installing ramps, swing rails and handrails, to ensure children of all abilities are able to participate in the kindergarten program. Additionally, the funds can support other minor capital works improvements such as installing hearing assistance technology​ and upgrading kitchens and bathrooms.
